You Don’t Need Chemicals For Younger Looking Skin

As we age, it becomes harder to mask those fine lines, wrinkles, and bags under our eyes. And while it would be great to wake up one day and suddenly be happy with our skin just as it is, let’s face it, we all want that young dewy look. But so often, the products we reach for are filled with chemicals and additives that promise to leave our skin softer, smoother, and more youthful-looking. While these chemicals may temporarily improve the look of your skin, they’re wreaking havoc on your body and your health.

When you choose skincare and beauty products with chemicals like parabens, phthalates, and more, you’re also allowing those toxins into your organs. Over time, they can build up and cause all kinds of problems, from weight gain and hormonal imbalance to cancer and infertility.

The great news is you don’t have to rely on these chemical-laden products to have glowing, youthful skin. Just try these tips instead.

Try hemp seed oil:Hemp seed oil is a powerful anti-aging ingredient for a few reasons. First, it prevents cell damage by strengthening the myelin sheath (the protective layer around your cells that breaks down over time.) Second, Vitamin E in hemp seed oil protects your skin from harsh elements like wind and heat. Third, hemp contains olein acid and linoleic acid.Together, they improve the appearance of skin and help change the structure of skin from the inside out to keep you looking healthy. Finally, hemp seed oil is naturally moisturizing without leaving your skin greasy.

Drink water:One of the most significant factors that makes your skin look young and healthy is elasticity. Simply put, the more water you have in your skin, the more elastic it is and the younger you’ll look. Plus, water flushes toxins out of your system - so if you do use any household toxins or you’re eating less healthy than you want to be, water can help flush these nasties out of your body (rather than letting them pop up on your skin). So make sure you’re getting at least 8 glasses of water every day.

Get enough sleep:You already know that a lack of sleep causes bags under your eyes. But did you know it can also cause your skin to physically age more quickly? When we sleep, our cells heal and regenerate. It’s also the time that our hormones regulate. When you consistently miss out on sleep, your hormones get out of whack and your cells don’t get a chance to regenerate. Translation? Your skin pays a hefty price.

Cut back on your sugar:Sugar is your skin’s worst enemy! It’s an inflammatory ingredient, meaning it causes your skin to break out and get red and inflamed. Sugar is especially aggravating for people with existing skin conditions like rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis. If you want young-looking, glowing skin, it’s time to cut out the white devil.

Cut out alcohol:Alcohol is bad for your skin for two big reasons. First, it causes damage to the liver (your body’s detox organ). When it’s working hard to process alcohol, it’s less capable of removing other toxins from the body. Also, alcohol can disrupt your hormones, which can cause breakouts (yes, even in adults) and redness. Alcohol is also a drying agent, so it will cause you to have to drink even more water to counteract the drying.
